Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre Foundation, part of Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation has launched a $3.5 million campaign, Tomorrow Stems From You in order to enable the expansion of a dedicated and specialized clinical space, as well as purchase essential equipment, so that Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre (JHCC) can provide 50 per cent more patients with potentially life-saving stem cell transplants like Dorothy Vernon Brown diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in the summer of 2013 and since has received a stem cell transplant and is on the road to recovery.
CHCH News in conjunction with Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation has produced a series on stem cell transplants in support of the Tomorrow Stems From You $3.5-million campaign to expand and build a dedicated stem cell transplant unit at Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre.
The series is set to air the week of January 30, 2017 and includes four evening news segments which will broadcast between 6 pm and 7 pm on Jan 30, 31, Feb 1 and 2; this will be accompanied by three Morning Live interview segments on Jan 31, Feb 1 and 3.
The series will educate viewers about blood cancers and stem cell transplants while also providing an overview of the stem cell transplant program at Juravinski, highlighting its historic and current leadership in this field through interviews with patients and clinicians.
